[Video] The Amazing Camera Work From ‘The Matrix’ Just Got Even Cooler
Ready to drop your jaw? Richard Kendall doesn’t really care if you’re ready or not, and he’s decided that it’s going to drop. This is seriously cool. He took the bullet-camera idea from The Matrix/X-Games (think the whole “40 cameras in a ring shooting simultaneously” thing that we’ve all seen a hundred times), but slow down the exposures and paint with light while each camera’s shutter is open. I’ve never seen anything like this before: it looks like something out of a Sci-Fi movie, except instead of doing it in a computer and rendering everything, it’s happening right in front of the camera. Light and time are both frozen while camera motion takes us on a wild three-dimensional tour of the space. Unreal!
