Canon Calls the 70D a "Game Changer," Watch Their Promo Videos Now

Last night Canon unveiled the successor to their popular 60D DSLR, the EOS 70D. There is a lot to like about the camera, but where Canon is focusing the brunt of their marketing is around the new Dual Pixel sensor which supposedly offers significantly faster focusing during video production. We've gathered a few videos from numerous Canon sources for your perusal to get you excited for Canon's next camera.

The video above is from Canon France, and does a pretty good job visually explaining the new sensor. Canon USA made a particularly "epic" video that you can see on their Facebook page (their sharing settings would not allow me to embed it here). Click here for a direct link to the video (you might need to be a fan of their page to see it).

Below you can see two videos uploaded by Canon Australia, the first doing its best to tout the new video autofocus abilities:

They are all talking about serious photography. Witch serious photographer using the Liveview more often then twice a month?!

Do you go out in the field with thousands of "serious" photographers every day? Do you see how they all work?

Yes, in portrait and wedding situations you most likely would not use Live View too much. But for landscape photographers it can be very useful. Don't knock a feature and claim professionals don't use it just because you don't.

I'm not sure he's just knocking a feature, it's a valid question.

OK, landscape photographers MIGHT actually use live view, if the sun permits. But they're probably going to do so with manual focus and the lens' distance scale, rather than touch-screen AF. But that's just a guess...

Liveview and touch-screen AF is one of those features that are pretty cool, but I'm guessing it's not all that important to a lot of people. There are exceptions, of course. It's going to be really important to:
- anyone interested in EOS M.
- anyone in Canon Marketting.

That's what im talking about... MF in Liveview, of course. But AF in Liveview? Im just saying...
What ever, it will be a nice camera. Let's see what the 7DII will bring.

Reminds me a little of the Sigma SD1, which I really wanted to give a good review of....

Anyone else still see jello shutter at 2:00 in the pizza video?
Wish they added global shutter...that'd be a huge breakthrough for this price point....

I just want some pizza

what he said, LOL anyway, i want one!
