Sam O’Hare makes NYC looks small

Sam O’Hare is an aero director/ VFX artist who likes playing around with his camera from time to time. When I first saw this video, I thought it was a cool little video that featured a tilt shift lens and some solid Nikon video work. It was not until I read his blog that I found out I was wrong on both accounts: no tilt shift lens and no video! Everything you are watching is shot with a standard lens and non video capable Nikon DSLRs. Check out Sam's blog at http://aerofilm.blogspot.com/2010/02/sandpit-short-film-by-aero-director-sam.html to read how he created The Sandpit.

This is a really cool video. It looks like everything is miniature because of the blur effect at the top and bottom of the screen. It looks like SimCity or something. Awesome stuff.

I did something similar once during a photoshoot... My canon powershot sd870IS was the only camera I had to timelapses, so I made it start shooting pictures... Then batch editing added a tilt shift effect... Nothing so mindblowing, I bet a lot of people with timelapse tilt shifts are done like this...
A 1500 dollar lens isnt in every bag
