Twenty Strangers Kiss for the First Time

Youtube user Tatia Pllieva produced a video with WREN Studio in which 20 strangers were coupled together and asked to kiss for the first time. This 3 and a half minute video had my attention from the beginning all the way until the end, no questions asked. Things got awkward. Things got hot. Things got awesome.

The video really highlights a huge array of emotions. I like how it starts by showing people visually feeling awkward and trying to make small conversation to smooth things out. We see a bit of talking, fidgeting, and looking around as the strangers worked their way in for the actual kiss in some casual and clearly nervous manners. It is kind of amusing in a cool way because I think anyone in that position would feel almost exactly like these people. "What was your name again?" - "This right here is the awkward moment. . . " - "Just go whenever?" - were probably my favorite quotes to start the video.

Once everyone seems to get passed the slight awkward phase, they seem to just go for it. Multiple couples kiss like they've been training for this moment for years and there were even a few times I was thinking the video was going to start becoming NSFW.

After the "first kiss" is shared, you can almost sense a connection between everyone. Holding hands, constant smiles, and asking if they could keep kissing are just a few hints that this experiment really brought strangers together in a way that you wouldn't expect. I really enjoyed it from beginning until end.

What did you think of the "First Kiss" video?

Wrong by who's definition? There are plenty of conservatives that don't buy your position. So don't make this a liberal media thing. Not too long a go there was a firestorm of negative comments about a cereal commercial that had an interracial couple. The term "wrong" was used frequently. You don't sound much different. I hardly doubt those of us that are accepting of others people's lifestyles are coerced into to doing so. Nor have we been bombarded with images our entire lives. I remember in the 70s when Anita Bryant (miss FL sunshine herself) was constantly in the media promoting her anti-gay position. We just understand that in this vast world, it is statistically impossible for everyone to be straight. As a straight person, I'm totally ok with that. And same sex attractions are not an abomination or a disease. That is primitive, antiquated thinking. Maybe it's was about time it got thrown smack in YOUR face. Maybe you need to squirm and feel uncomfortable so others can see what you're made of. Deal with it or be a coward and run. Either way, the world doesn't really care what you have to say.

You are comparing interracial marriage to the gay lifestyle? Male and Female were made for each other, gays were not, plain and simple. While I do understand that they have an attraction to one another that still does not make it right. Pedophiles are attracted to children.. Beastiality is attractive for some too.. Your point? Before the liberal agenda took hold of the healthcare system Homosexuality was labeled a mental illness, with numerous studies done over the decades to prove that. You are the poster child for the homosexual propaganda machine. Their blueprint was a book titled "After the Ball, How America will conquer fear & hatred of Gays in the 90's". If you wish, please read up and see that you are just a pawn that is easily swayed by the powers that be.

What a bigot. Just turn off the computer and go back to reading the book that you pick and choose what to believe out of.

"And same sex attractions are not an abomination or a disease. That is primitive, antiquated thinking."

By who's definition?

"Primitive, antiquated thinking"? You mean the thinking that was responsible for The Renaissance, The Baroque Era, The Romantic Period, Newton's Law, The American revolution, The Theory of Relativity? That Thinking? Now, since people are so much more enlightened what do the masses clamor for and waste their time on? Twitter, Facebook, Bieber, and fast food, and taking pics of every meal to share with "friends".. Yep, society is definitely more enlightened than those "antiquated" days.

How does the fact that you have drawers ("cajones") explain your homophobia?

You just ruined this whole video by your self-centred wordl, they dont need your opinion, they dont need you!, they found love! I am really sorry for you, you are desparetly one who need help.

And you are desperately in need of better grammar skills.

SY STEPANOV, are you mad brah?

I ruined a faked video? A commercial? Gay propaganda, as I said before? Ha!

So a person's genetic predisposition to be attracted to the same sex trouble you, fine, but did you have to bring your trolling to a photography website?

One of my oldest friends is gay, whoopdy doo, does it make him any less the person he is or should I look at him differently or should I not be his friend? I don't think so. Several of my co-workers are lesbians. Should I treat them or think of them any differently? Does it make them less people? I don't think so.

You have an issue with it, that's obvious. Do I care? No. Should I treat you as if you weren't a person? No, just because you're a bigoted loser (in my opinion) doesn't make you any less a person who is entitled to their opinion.

You might just want to think of it this way. Your attempt at shaming people who love those of the same sex shows how pathetically shallow your life is. They don't care that you have an issue with it. You don't have to accept it, just stay out of their way so they can live a fulfilling life the way they wish while you can go back to your dank hole in the dark ages

I hope you enjoyed being punked by the gay propaganda machine, Mike.. Turns out you are the one that needs to grow up, and grow some....

I have a feeling @symansaez:disqus is a 14 year old gay boy who tries to bully other gays to make people believe he is straight...

Troll much?

Yep, those dudes do look like trolls.. Funny!

Gotta sneak in that gay propaganda..

Just because you were aroused by men kissing doesn't make it propaganda.

Tired, old, and stale comeback.. It might have been funny long ago.

Had to sneak in that right wing homophobe propaganda..

I'm sure he actually has a "phobia" of gay people. Just because he disagrees with it, he MUST be terrified of them.

From Websters:

Homophobia - irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals.

Your literal-mindedness is no match against the power of Google.

Homophobia originally meant the fear of gayness in oneself, but the term has been co-opted by the homosexual lobby as a weapon to be used against anyone who disagrees with their conduct. They redefined it to mean “hate and/or fear of homosexuals.”

Homosexual activists publicly associate this label with violent “gay bashers” and hateful fanatics. When they use the term they want people to think about the killers of Matthew Shepard (who actually turned out to be men he knew and had slept with), but in conventional practice they include every man, woman and child who believes homosexuality is abnormal or wrong.

So, the question is - what is the term for people for people who are not homophobic but who disagree with homosexual conduct? There isn't one, because 'homophobia" is used as a label to smear.

I'm sure that Vegetarians or vegans don't agree with me eating meat. They think it is immoral and wrong, but they don't hate me for it. I don't agree with homosexual conduct either, but I don't hate or fear homosexuals, and simply disagreeing doesn't make me "homophobic".

The key word here being "originally."

Regardless of what brought about its change in meaning, its meaning in the current social climate is not the same as it "originally" was.

Just because you disagree with he new definition doesn't mean the definition is wrong or doesn't exist.

Yes, like "gay" originally meant happy.

So, if 2+2 one day becomes 5 we should accept it? Since everything is relative...

I want to kiss the stripe-shirted girl too!

Get in line!

Love this - it's strips everyone down to bare basic emotion and makes for a compelling few minutes.

Agree, great movie, made my day !

Hey there's Damian Kulash from Ok Go!

That was awesome....such a simple concept but executed flawlessly

i wanna know who went out for coffee/drinks afterwards. sorta like a backwards date.

I'd feel bad if they got oral herpes!

What a nice idea!! It made me smile!! :-)

For the Homophobic bunch commenting... you might like this one too : http://www.bradensummers.com/menu/all-love-is-equal/

The others you'll appreciate it too, it's quite a beautiful project on LGBT Rights worldwide.

As per the Video, i think it's awesome, amazing composition, work, filming, light... and the couples are beautiful, some are models, some are actors, some are amateurs... and who cares... let's just live the moment for what it's worth and see human interaction at it's most subtle and to the skin emotions.

"What's your name again?" Too funny.

Some clearly got more aggressive than others and probably may have gone further had this not been an experiment on camera.

Awkwardly beautiful! Love it!

it's just a kiss. since a % of the worlds population is gay isn't this just a snapshot of the world ? people are looking way to much into this video. i'm not gay and would not wanna see two guys kiss i'm fine with it in this text. what's the big deal ? if your so closed minded just turn it off and move on. no one really complained about the girls kissing though ? double standard ?

Awesome video/experiment

Fantastic work.

I was totally doing this experiment in the club last night but my girlfriend didn't believe me, she doesn't get art at all u_u

It's pretty cheesy. So tired of people reposting it.

The tall guy and short girl are totally gonna meet up for a coffee later

Love it when a person hides behind a fake name when calling everyone else out! (sarcasim in its deepest voice).....

Yep, it was all fake.. Gay propaganda just as I said! Enjoy it Sheeple!! HA!

why are you so angry fotique13, you are not god, it is not your creation that has gone so horribly wrong (in your opinion) so why cant you live and let live? or even better offer your solution rather than your judgement? if i google your name its a very sad list of negative and bitter comments, that isnt healthy for you or the people the comments are aimed at, I sincerely hope you find some peace in the near future

To fotique13: you ought to know profmth from YouTube. Post a video reply to this and we will watch how you'll handle it. It'll be fun!
