The Wednesday Rundown 6.29.11

Howdy and welcome to the Wednesday Rundown. This week we have one of the most creative self portrait shoots I have seen. The concept for the shoot was captured perfectly in the final images. Also Dave hill has a BTS video and a link to his amazing images on his site. If you have a video that you think we might like to post, please click on "submit content" above.

Intense self portrait:

This has to be one of my favorite self portraits I have seen, even better that the guy did a behind the scenes video. The video shows Paolo set up and then model himself for the shoot. I really like the theme going on here. http://www.paolomartinez.it/

Magazine shoot:

Dave Hill take us on a photo shoot for a magazine on a beach. He mainly uses a ring flash and blocks out the sun. He does not have any final photos from this shoot, however his work is worth a look on his site http://www.davehillphoto.com/

Nikon D3 Promo:

This is an older promo for the Nikon D3 but just some great shooting by Joe McNally. His subjects turn out looking very sharp while adding an additional spark with another object.

Footwear Commercial:

A behind the scenes video on the making of a commercial. Very nice setups on the golf carts to run the lights. The BTS video looks sick, hopefully they post the final video soon. http://www.johnker.com/

Good stuff this week Jerrit, regarding the first video i've noticed more and more photographers using medium format film cameras. Im really looking forward to see where this leads in the next five or so years.

He's shooting an SLR...

But great selections for sure. 52 week project was definitely my favorite this week.

Blast! I meant the 2nd video, I fixed it.

Photo from the Dave Hill shoot is up on his site. If interested: http://www.davehillphoto.com/gallery/page-2 (around the middle)
