Recently we sent out a funny tweet asking what you what we should do with these three cameras, and many of you suggested we give them away. Well ask and you shall receive! It's been a while since we have run a contest this big, and since the summer is over we figured we should end it with a bang. As mentioned above, we are teaming up with the SlrLounge, BH Photo, and Cloud Spot to give away the winner's choice of a Canon 5DS R, Nikon D810, or Sony a7RII. These three cameras are the three hottest cameras on the market and produce the highest quality images offered by any of the Big Three camera brands.

So How Do I Enter?
In the past we have run contests through all sorts of social media platforms. For this contest we are simplifying the process even more by offering 5 unique was to enter. If you sign up for a free account with Cloud Spot (a killer photo sharing site for professional photographers) or watch our latest Fstoppers Landscape tutorial video, you can gain 5 entries for each. If you do any of the other entries, you can gain an additional chance to win. It's pretty simple stuff and if you do all 6 entries, you will actually get your name placed in the random drawing 14 times!

This contest is open to anyone of any age. The only way to enter is through the entry form above (or the one on SLR Lounge's site). The contest is open internationally, however, additional shipping and customs costs will apply for international winners. The contest is void where prohibited. All entries must be received by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on October 2nd.
We are extremely excited to be able to give away one of these cameras, and stay tuned because Fstoppers will be releasing the most unique review pitting all three of these cameras against each other.
If you've ever seen our previous contests we usually make it pretty public who won. In some cases we even call the person on the phone and surprise them. Fstoppers doesn't do Hoax giveaways, we have too many eyeballs on us to do that and that would be pretty scummy
Reading farther up you'll notice that I indeed didn't believe this to be a hoax. And yes that would be "pretty scummy". However, being a new comer to the site one might wonder being, that they were just left out in the open with no information as to the progress.

well, for those asking for the winner, if you click the Terms & Conditions link below the entries, they say the winner is going to be anounced a WEEK after the contest ends.... so tecnicaly we have 3 days yet...
That's good to know. Not sure why I missed that. It is a redeeming factor for Fstoppers admin.. Although mention of that should have been posted when questions began to surface.
Also there was added confusion when your update "UPDATE: LAST DAY TOMORROW! " was posted and then not changed. Which was a missed opportunity to reiterate that section of the "Terms &Conditions"
I'm not sure why any of this makes a difference in the end goal. Yes you only had 1 more day to register and yes a winner will be announced soon after the contest ends. Sorry it seems like we aren't on top of it but there is a lot that goes in to something like this behind the scenes especially when Charleston just had major flooding all weekend.
I do know what is entailed with something like this. Which is why my posts. This is something that can easily get out of hand if not addressed promptly. I have built several very popular web sites, both teck and administration. Actually I was an administrator on seven separate web sites at the same time. Your end goal is ideal however, in the interim, you have potentially lost what gain you've made by just not keeping those participating informed. That my friend is the difference.
Though I see admin problems, perhaps not enough administrators, I think you have a very good site and offer good advice of your expertise. I simply am offering the same.
I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. What can get out of hand? How have we lost what gains we had?
As others have mentioned, the terms say the announcement isn't even due yet so hold on to your horses, everything is under control. We are waiting on our partners to coordinate an announcement. Sorry Loyd, nothing to see here
There's no big deal, I was just trying to help y'all out. If you can't see potential loss that's your problem and I'll let you figure it out.
But I will mention, to make it easier for you, If you're going to add discussion to these drawings you need to be there to discuss it.
I'm not sure if y'all noticed or not? But I was the only one trying to answer questions for y'all, the best I could with the resources I had. Which is just one more little draw back your admin had. They should have been answering them or at least agreeing with or correcting me.

Read the comments above that I've been discussing with the site admin. I know now that the "Terms and Conditions" state that they will announce the winner 1 week after the end of the drawing. We'll find out in about three days who won.
I hope to announce it today actually. Just coordinating with SLR Lounge on how to announce it.
