5 Helpful Tips for Better Wildlife Photos

Wildlife photography is a challenging but rewarding genre that requires a lot of solid technique and specialized knowledge in order to create compelling images. If you are new to the genre and looking to improve, check out this fantastic video tutorial that will give you five helpful tips sure to put you on the right track to better wildlife shots.

Coming to you from David Swindler with B&H Photo and Video, this excellent video tutorial will show you five tips for improving your wildlife photography. Perhaps the most crucial tip of all is the importance of patience and learning animal behavior. All the best wildlife photographers have excellent technique, creative vision, and post-processing skills, of course, but they also have strong knowledge of animal behavior and tendencies, which allows them to better understand where to find their subjects, how to position themselves, and how to prepare for the shots. In tandem with that knowledge comes a healthy dose of patience. Professional wildlife photographers will often wait hours for a single shot, and while they will not always get the one they want, when they do, it makes all that work and time worth it. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Swindler.
