Jay P. Morgan Teaches You How To Balance Strobes and Daylight

Plus, he's giving away an excellent Tamron 24-70mm SP f/2.8!

This is an incredibly informative video from The Slanted Lens that details an excellent way of shooting outdoors and balancing strobes with natural light. Some of these tricks were things that I actually never considered such as stopping down the camera and upping the flash to see exactly where the light was falling outside. Now that I think about it, it's so simple that I should have been doing it from the start, but that's why I love these videos!

If you've never worked outside with your strobes before or you've had trouble getting good results, you should definitely check out this video!

nice technique, as he pulls down the ambient to see the flash's effect on the scene!
Thank you for sharing!

Sweet! Where can i get one of those portable smoke machines??

I'm assuming this all works as long as you don't go over the flash sync speed when you use the shutter to help take the ambient down and add the flash back to see what your lights are doing. Wouldn't it be more challenging if you were going for a shallow depth of field? I would think you would need to add a couple stops worth of ND filter.

How bout "J.P. Morgan" teaches you how make money?

Don't you mean changing the shutter to darken the ambient light?
