A Timelapse Video That Will "Move" You Like No Other

Videographer Lance Page has taken the concept of timelapse and turned it from something that has become a bit of a cliche, to a 4 minute video that takes your breath away. Instead of keeping the camera stationary with the Earth's axis, Page has decided to sync the camera with the movement of the stars, and has succeeded in masterfully portraying our planets rotation through space.

Lance Page explains the concept for his video "Ride The Sky":

I had the idea of a new astro time-lapse technique in which the camera is pointed right at the north star and mounted to a motorized pivot point directly lined up with the sensor so the camera is able to spin with the stars through the night. This is where inspiration for the title came from. Sit back, relax and Ride the Sky.

The video took 9 different camping trips spread across 4 months to complete but it was clearly worth the effort! If you'd like to see a detailed behind the scenes post about how this all came together Lance Page explains it all in his personal blog post.
