Toy Photographer Shows How He Shot a Spooky Image of Jason From 'Friday the 13th'

Halloween is just around the corner, folks, so it's time to start getting those creepy, creative ideas out of that weird head of yours and into your camera. What better place to start than in the comfort of your own home?

Coming to you from US photographer Michael Dugger is a YouTube channel, which — as of late, at least — specializes in toy photography. This kind of photography, like other forms of tabletop photography, relies heavily on being able to compose and style a scene creatively. Dugger uses his craftiness by creating a tiny coffin for his tiny Jason. He then goes into helpful detail regarding how he goes about lighting his spooky, little scene.

Every year, when Halloween comes around, I get excited for what I could create, and almost every year, I get swamped, so I forget about it. This year is going to be different. I can feel it in my bones — my chilling, rattling bones. I did get up off of my butt one year to make something. The results were... interesting, but I had fun doing it, and that's the point. Personal projects really help to flex your creative muscles, and you never know what you might pick up along the way.

I’ve done a couple of toy shots, they’re quite fun to do so I just create the mood depending on the scene I’m shooting.
