Creating Corporate Portraits for the Busy Professional

Today’s corporate hard-hitters are busy people who don’t always have time for an entire photo session when they look to you for business portraits. For this reason, you must be prepared to accomplish a variety of looks in a time-efficient manner. This video from Jay P. Morgan of The Slanted Lens focuses on the importance of making short work of corporate portraits.

Personal branding and business portrait clients will often need an entire set of different looks for use in variety of places where they will need to display a professional business portrait of themselves. You, as a photographer, need to be able to produce for them several different looks to use in magazines, on websites, for business cards, and in various advertising media, and you need to be able to do this without taking up a ton of your client’s precious time.

In this quick video, Jay explores simple lighting and quick, portable background options. He shows how he uses the unique features of existing areas within the corporate office for a great environmental portrait. Finally, he discusses the importance of having your gear ready to shoot so that you can optimize your time with your client.

Agreed, I usually take about 5-10 minutes myself. They can't carry a smile for too long, starts to look fake.
