Format Is Supporting Photographers Globally With a $25,000 Fund

We have seen plenty of negative news, so it's time to shine the light on those who are trying to make this world a better place by extending financial help to photographers who have been affected by the pandemic.

I think I can be confident in saying that all of us have been negatively impacted by the current world crisis situation in one way or another. We have lost jobs, bookings, clients, and much more. Our livelihood as well as our mental health has taken a hit so it's refreshing to see that non-governmental organizations are now also getting involved in supporting the photography community. Although creative material is consumed now more than ever with majority of us being stuck at home, it's an industry that has suffered badly.

To help deal with financial hardships in the current climate, Format, an online portfolio and website builder aimed at creatives, has announced a $25,000 fund to help photographers. Format announced their financial assistance to "honor that hustle and help independent photographers" worldwide. Each successful applicant will receive up to $500 towards their business or art. It will be deposited directly into each photographer's PayPal account to ensure the process is quick and simple. Although it is not a massive amount in the grand scheme of things, it is an amount that could help save some photographers' businesses.

The good thing is, you do not need to be a pre-existing client of Format to be able to apply. Any self-employed photographer is welcome to apply and there are no regional restrictions, either. All you need to do is fill in the online form. You will be asked to provide your contact details, your specialization in photography and what you intend to use the funds for. It's simple as that. If you are in a position where you are able to contribute to this Photographer Fund in some shape or form, you are also encouraged to get in touch.

Let's hope this fund provides well needed assistance to those who require it the most.
