Helpful Tips for Landing Videography Jobs

Even when you've got the skills, the equipment, and the creative vision, it can be daunting trying to land a videography gig. This great video will give you some helpful advice to increase your chances of landing that next job.

Coming to you from YC Imaging, this excellent video features a number of tips to help you land videography work. It is easy to get so caught up in perfecting your technique and expanding your creative vision that you overlook the importance of developing your business skills, but of course, those are just as crucial as your abilities behind the camera. Of the tips, I think perhaps the most salient for me has been the importance of educating your clients. Clients don't understand what we do, and in particular, they tend to not truly understand just how much goes into a shoot, and as such, they can be a bit overwhelmed or put off if they're just handed a large number without explanation. Breaking down the shoot costs and taking the time to explain them to the client can go a long way in helping them to feel like they're spending their money well and can help them feel more invested in the project and your work. Check out the video above for the full rundown.

I like this, Informative. I would like to break into video market, start small and see what happens. Thank you. Any particular software to estimated costs for a production?
