How Can We Adapt to the Current Reality?

The coronavirus pandemic has fundamentally altered the world and caused serious disruptions for creatives in all industries. This excellent video features an experienced professional discussing how we can adapt to this new landscape.

Coming to you from Daniel Norton Photographer, this insightful video features him discussing how we can adapt to some of the difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic. This has been hard on photographers for a wide variety of reasons. The most obvious, of course, is the financial impact, as many of us are dealing with canceled shoots and lost income. Beyond that, many of us are lamenting the loss of the social aspect of photography. We may be used to working with creative teams and the simple joy of social interaction provided by our jobs, which can make things like sudden social distancing particularly hard to deal with, though it is quite necessary. That does not mean we can't do anything at all; for example, now is an excellent time to work on your skills and perhaps develop new ones. That being said, be sure you are getting social interaction in too! Whether it is a phone call with a family member, a movie night over Skype, online video games with friends, or whatever works for you, take the time to maintain connections. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

Thank you for this insightful video, Alex. As one of the major food retailers here in Belgium is a client and food retail is going stronger than ever right now I am very lucky to be able to keep on working in my studio. My thoughts are going to all those photographers who lost most if not all their assignments.
Stay safe and healthy, everyone!
