What Skills Does a Photographer Need to Make Money?

Being good with a camera is just one of many skills you need to successfully earn money as a photographer. This excellent video explores the skill every financially successful photographer has and why it is such a crucial thing.

Coming to you from Maarten Heilbron, this great video discusses the importance of learning how to read your market and being a good salesperson. No doubt, there are a ton of really talented and creative photographers out there who produce showstopping work, but not all of them are as successful as they might deserve to be based on their skills. On the other hand, if you look at the most successful photographers, they all have one thing in common: they are highly skilled at reading clients and understanding what they are looking for, convincing them that they can provide it, and then producing that work. Being a good business-person is just as important as being a competent photographer — arguably even more important. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
