[BTS Video] Dramatic Photography Portraits Lit With Black Lights

The videos keep coming in for our 2011 Fstoppers Behind The Scenes Contest as we enter the final month of submissions. Most photographers use either strobe, fluorescent, or incandescent light to mold and sculpt their subjects. German photographer Julius Ise went a completely different route and used UV blacklights along with some gelled lights for separation to produce extremely vivid images. The shoot has an overall tribal theme and I really think the blacklight look brings something to the overall vibe. I'd say this is one of my top 5 submissions so far but Julius will have to impress our judges. What do you guys think? Leave Julius your thoughts below in the comments. Also check out Julius Ise's full portfolio because it's pretty awesome as well.

With our Black Rapid contest, we wanted you to help us prove that point, and prove it you did. Of all the stunning entries, I had to narrow it down to my top six (seen in full post), and finally my overall favorite. Musicbed Film Initiative Is Back with Over $70,000 to Fund Your Untold Stories

[BTSV] Contest Entry: "Broken Reality" (well produced)

Big props to photographer Kevyn Bryant and film maker Xavier Burgin for submitting a video that covers all the bases. For being one of their first BTS videos, these guys did a good job at laying it all out there for us. And gosh darn it, there is a quality to these guys that just makes us want to like them. We haven't seen awkward southern charm like this, since the likes of one (green) Lee Morris and one (wet behind the ears) Patrick Hall first took to the BTS camera, way way waaaay back in 2010.
