Free Contest For Photographers of All Skill Levels

Free Contest For Photographers of All Skill Levels

The Independent Photographer is holding a free, month-long photography contest for photographers of all ages and skill levels during the month of January! The Berlin-based publication will be accepting submissions through January 31st to be judged by award winning Magnum photographer David Alan Harvey.

This is the perfect opportunity for all hobbyists and professionals alike to have photos viewed by an international audience with the chance to win up to $1500 in cash prizes. The winner will also be given a spot in a group exhibition in Berlin and their photo published in a book produced by the Independent Photographer. The contest is open to all genres of photography including portrait, still life, street, fine art, and landscape, and documentary work.

Before becoming a full time photographer, photo contests were my outlet to getting my work seen. Whether local, national, or international, contests are a great way to expand your comfort zone when it comes to putting your work out there and having it looked at with scrutiny. Something you'll have to get used to when making a transition into the professional world of photography.

For all you first time contestants out their, do not let this opportunity pass you up. It's free!

Submit your work here.
