Rules & Prizes

Welcome to the August installment of the Critique the Community!  This month's critique theme is going to be "Minimally Edited Photos," and we want to see your best photographs that have hardly been edited at all.  Any raw file naturally has to be edited to some degree, so what constitutes a "minimum edit?".  You are free to do any basic adjustments to the image's white balance, exposure, color and contrast, but we don't want to see any extreme editing such as compositing, skin retouching, multiple frame blending, warping, cloning, Ai selections and masking, or anything that basically goes beyond what can be edited in Lightroom using just the top 11 sliders.

This critique is open to any genre so feel free to enter your best headshot, landscape, architectural, product, portrait, wedding, or fashion images. There are basically no rules on what the image can feature so long as you have not edited beyond a few color and contrast tweaks.

Rules

  1. Each photographer may submit up to three images.
  2. Each image should use minimal editing with no major photoshop or retouching magic added at all
  3. 10 Images will be chosen by Lee and Patrick for the video critique.
  4. Finally, every image submitted MUST HAVE some written commentary on how the image was created, what gear was used, what challenges did you face, and why you think it works without egregious retouching or editing. We will feature your commentary on the image if your work is selected.

Apologies to message you here, I reached out to you and Lee as far as receiving credit for a tutorial.. I came in 3rd place in the "dark" contest ie smoke grenade wedding couple

hey few images feel heavily edited hope the judges see to that

Loving this contest so far. Learned a lot already from just scrolling through everyone's shots, and it's nice that people here actually help each other out. Good luck all!

I originally posted the "Renaissance woman at the window" here, but deleted because I feel I'll give others a chance. Plus I really don't need any of the products offered at the store.
