The DJI Mini 2 is here, and it brings with it a bevy of useful improvements and new features, all in the same impressively light and small package that can easily be dropped in your bag on the go. Coming to you from Billy Kyle, this great video review takes a look at the new DJI Mini 2 drone. The Mini 2 is a ludicrously small drone, easily fitting in the hand and coming in at just 249 g, meaning it sits just below the FAA's 250 g registration threshold. Perhaps one of the biggest improvements in the new model is its wind resistance, which jumps from 14 mph to a maximum of 24 mph, meaning even though the drone is quite light, it can fly in and provide stable footage across a wide variety of situations. Along with that, you get 4K video at 30 fps, 12-megapixel raw capture, OcuSync 2.0 with up to 6.2-mile transmission range and automatic wireless downloads while in flight, maximum speed of 36 mph, and flight time of up to 31 minutes. Altogether, the Mini 2 looks like a worthwhile upgrade and a fantastic portable device. Check out the video above for Kyle's full thoughts.
I would have ordered one, but for me it's big short fall is in two areas,
1. No obstacle avoidance.
2. No programed flight paths.
The programmed flight paths is not a deal breaker, but No Obstacle avoidance is. It's tempting, but I think I'll hold off to see what comes next.
