5 Reasons You Might Not Be Growing as a Photographer

Becoming a successful photographer takes the confluence of technical aptitude, creative thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and more. This requires you to be able to address multiple aspects of your work simultaneously, sometimes making it a bit tricky to figure out why things might not be going well. If you are struggling to grow as a photographer, check out this great video that discusses five reasons why that might be and what you can do to get back on the right track.

Coming to you from Jiggie Alejandrino, this excellent video discusses five reasons why you might not be growing as a photographer and what you can do to fix that. Alejandrino's first point about being "overly creative" is a particularly salient one. As he puts it, there is a reason the "boring" classics are classics, and taking the time to master them can be highly beneficial. After all, as Picasso put it: "learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist." We all want to go straight to making creative, entrancingly unique images, but we have to put in the time to truly understand what comprises a good photo and how to make it first. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Alejandrino.
