8 Common Mistakes Photographers Make

Photography takes the combination of creativity, technical knowledge, and aptitude with a variety of specialized methods, and as such, there are a lot of places where things can go wrong. This excellent video tutorial discusses eight common mistakes both amateur and more advanced photographers make and how to fix them or avoid them in the first place.

Coming to you from Sawyer Hartman, this fantastic video tutorial discusses eight mistakes photographers of all levels make and what you can do to avoid them. One that I think is particularly easy to fall into is the mistaken belief that you need to travel somewhere special to take great photos. No doubt, there is a reason why such places are popular, as they do make for great photographs, but on the other hand, if you rely on always having an exceptional location, you are doing yourself a disservice and hampering your abilities. The truth is that great images can be made in pretty much any location; it simply comes down to using your creativity and knowledge of how to manipulate various camera parameters to turn something ordinary into something extraordinary. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Hartman.
