Helpful Composition Advice for Landscape Photography

Composition is a tricky and nuanced art when it comes to landscape photography, and it helps to have a variety of tips and general guidelines in your toolbox. This excellent video tutorial will give you some helpful advice to create better landscape image compositions.

Coming to you from Nigel Danson, this great video tutorial will give you some helpful advice for better landscape photography compositions. One thing that has always helped me is to simplify things a bit when I am in doubt. We often think in an additive fashion when we approach landscape photography; in other words, we continually add things to the frame to balance other elements. That is a perfectly fine approach a lot of the time, but it can go awry sometimes when you end up overcomplicating the frame and diluting the viewer's ability to parse the elements. Sometimes, the best approach is to step back, reevaluate the frame, and rework your composition to only include everything that is absolutely necessary. Check out the video above for a lot of helpful advice from Danson.
