Here Are Nine Great Portrait Photography Locations You Can Find Near You

When you're shooting outside of a studio, finding the perfect location can be a bit of a challenge. This great video will show you nine locations with lots of potential that you can likely find somewhere near you.

Coming to you from Mango Street, this helpful video will show you nine ideas for portrait photography locations in just 90 seconds. I personally think that when scouting portrait locations, it can be easy to look at a potential spot with too wide of an eye. In other words, you often only need a very small patch of desirable background for a tight portrait, and even the most seemingly unappealing locations will likely offer a few spots such as this. Try to narrow your vision and pick out small areas of potential; you'll likely find you can get a lot more mileage out of a location than you might have initially thought. In fact, that's a great challenge to improve your eye: find a location you wouldn't normally shoot at, and take a half-hour or so working with a model or friend to see what you can get out of it. It'll help expand both your eye and creative palette.
