How to Create Better Compositions Using a Telephoto Lens for Landscape Photography

The majority of the time, we will normally reach for a wide angle lens for landscape photography work, but that does not mean there is not a place for telephoto lenses too, though they definitely require a different approach. This fantastic video tutorial will show you how to create better compositions using a telephoto lens for your landscape photos.

Coming to you from Chris Sale, this great video discusses how to make better compositions using a telephoto lens for landscape work. Wide angle lenses are normally the optic of choice for such images simply because they can capture the majority of the scene, but you can often create more unique lenses simply by switching to a longer focal length and focusing on just a single element. This can also be a way to create more compelling images when you are working a scene that is not particularly interesting overall, as you can still pick out an isolated piece of it to create a more worthwhile image. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Sale.
