How to Edit a Video From Start to Finish in Adobe Premiere

Adobe Premiere Pro is a tremendously complicated program with a wide range of features, effects, and capabilities, and it can be a bit overwhelming when you are new to it and learning how to edit video. If you are struggling a bit, this excellent video will show you an eight-step process for editing a video from start to finish in Premiere Pro.

Coming to you from Parker Walbeck, this excellent video will show you his eight-step process for editing a video from start to finish in Premiere Pro. In it, Walbeck will teach you practical techniques like adding titles and performing color corrections and exposure adjustments as well as other ideas like building a proper narrative. This can be one of the trickiest parts. A common mistake when someone is new to video is to overcomplicate the narrative dictated by the edit through excessive use of cuts and effects. It is certainly tempting to stretch newly found technical chops, but it generally a good idea to err on the side of simplicity at first. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Walbeck.

My gawd, I knew I was a rookie at PP, but this makes me feel worse! I can only dream to be this proficient at it.

Nice video. From someone who just tried premiere yesterday and made a video, its nice seeing the whole process.

I've been editing all my videos using Adobe Premiere on my MacBook Pro 13-inch 2015 for over four years now. However, I'm planning on building a PC that's video editing/gaming oriented. I was wondering if it'd be possible to edit an existing Premiere project that I've been editing on my MacBook on my PC?

Yes
