Coming to you from Leigh TheSnapChick, this excellent video tutorial will show you a range of helpful tips for photographing wildflowers. If you want to photograph the details of flowers but do not own a macro lens, try using an extension tube. While they generally will not provide the magnification levels of a dedicated macro lens, extension tubes are far cheaper and a great way to test the waters before you make a larger investment in a specialized instrument. There are a few drawbacks, mostly that they do not provide much more magnification for telephoto focal lengths and that you may take a slight hit in image quality, Still, they are affordable and portable, so there is no reason not to keep one in the side pocket of your bag for those detail shots. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
