Quick Tips to Pose the Bride and Groom

Drawing a blank in the middle of a couple shoot is not an uncommon thing for a photographer. You suddenly run out of ideas and stand perplexed on what to do next. This video from Vanessa Joy throws light on some quick ideas to get you started with posing brides and grooms.

Choose your location wisely, for it sets the mood for the entire shoot. In fact, you can frame a series of shots with the objects in the background as an enticing factor. Coming to the couple, shoulders can be a good place to start. You can play around with the angle of the couple's shoulders and make them stand at ease. Composing a frame that shows the back of the bride's dress is a good idea too, for it not only offers a new angle, but also shows the intricate work in her dress. Details are everything. You can focus completely on the details alone and make a series of shots. Kissing is another interesting way to bring out the best of both. Try different types of kissing, like kissing on the cheeks, forehead, lips, etc. You can also freeze the shots in mid-action when they are about to kiss. Music and dance can come in handy, and you can actually play music and ask them to share a twirl. It gets exciting that way. And walking, how can we forget that? Asking the couple to hold hands and take a breezy walk is one of the easiest ways to put them at ease. You can move closer, farther, and around them to capture some interesting shots. Take a look at the full video to see the 10 tricks that Joy shares.
