For me, composition has always been the trickiest part of my landscape photography work. Of course, the difficulty is that unlike almost any other genre, you can't rearrange the compositional elements in your scene; you can only change your own perspective. My most common error, and one I still tend to fall prey to, is simply trying to include too much in a scene. It can be easy to be drawn up into the beauty of nature and want to just slap on a wide angle to include every last bit of it, but sometimes, an image that excludes can be stronger than one that includes, which is why I've grown addicted to shooting landscapes with telephoto lenses.
