Photography, like any creative pursuit, requires a degree of confidence in your abilities in order to find success. It is totally normal to go through periods in which you lose that confidence, however. So, what do you do then? This great video essay discusses what you can do to rebuild your confidence.
Coming to you from David Bergman with Adorama TV, this excellent video essay details how you can improve your confidence in your photographic abilities. It is common, even among top-level photographers, to lose confidence in one's abilities at one time or another. This can stem from a shoot or project gone wrong, or can simply be part of the normal waxing and waning of our own minds. I have certainly gone through times like this, and I find that it helps to fall back on things I know. For example, if I am feeling a bit lackluster about my own abilities, I will often turn to a technique or creative vision I know well and try it again, perhaps with a slightly new twist. Successfully completing that project helps to remind me that I am not totally inept! Check out the video above for the full rundown from Bergman.
