If you are new to landscape photography, it can be tricky trying to bring together all the elements that make a good image. This excellent video discusses the process behind making a wide variety of landscape photos and everything that makes them successful images.
Coming to you from Practical Photography, this great video follows two photographers as they shoot a wide variety of landscape photos. There are a ton of elements that go into a landscape photo, both technical and creative, and it is important to master all these processes in order to shoot compelling photos. One of the most important lessons I ever learned was to simplify compositions. You frequently encounter lots of beautiful, sweeping scenes in landscape work, and while they can be stunning person, trying to capture them all in one frame does not always translate. Often, you can create a stronger image by removing things from the frame and just including two or three of the most prominent elements arranged in a balanced composition. Check out the video above for lots of helpful advice and examples.
