Certainly, as people who just enjoy being outside, blue skies and warm weather are generally preferable. But these conditions can be rather boring from a visual perspective, and moreover, we are very used to seeing images taken in nice weather. On the other hand, moodier skies commonly offer a lot more contrast, detail, and texture.
