I don't think you needed to put that moon in the image. It would have been fine without it. I wish photographers (ESPECIALLY Peter Lik) had a basic understanding of astronomy. The moon is never located that far north (as indicated by the big dipper) in the sky. It ruins the image for me.
Unfortunately it fools a large number of people, so people continue to do it.
Other than the very tight composition, the moon / stars looks absolutely ridiculous. Would love to see more of the pools. Looks very similar to Fifth Water Hot Springs!
I'm going to have to agree with everyone else regarding the moon. Rather than adding to the photo, it takes so much away from it.
If you're looking for inspiration, Peter Lik is not the place to be looking (if he was the inspiration for the choices made), regardless of how much money he makes.
