3.3 - "Solid"

Gear differential. It's one of the images photographed for Meritor - a company that innovates in area of axles, breaks, wheels, differentials, etc. The challenge was to photograph the products in a dramatic, edgy, futuristic way.

Awesome work. Lighting is great.

Nicely lit and great detail, Marek. I am not familiar with Meritor and your photo alone got me to visit their website to learn what they are all about.

Were you responsible for taking photos of their entire lineup of products? Either way, the photos you posted definitely complement the look and feel of their website.

Thanks so much Robert! Yes, I photographed about 70-80 parts in total for their brand redesign and the new website. All the dramatic looking images of products are from that same shoot as the one posted here.

The brighter parts are CGI renderings that weren't done by me.

They are a great company and do some amazing innovating within the trucking industry.

If anyone is interested, I just posted a behind the scenes timelapse video on my profile from the setup for this shoot: I ended up designing and custom 8x16 foot overhead bank that we could set up on site and my wife's mom, who is extraordinarily talented in sawing, put it all together for me. :)

I really like this shot. I laughed when they called it a turbo. I have replaced differential gears many times while out 4wheeling. Very nice shot. Maybe if Lee knew what it was they may have scored it higher.

Haha! Thanks David! Photographing these parts was definitely not as easy as it may seem. They weren't intrinsically pretty and we had about 60 to photograph so we had to move very quickly.
