During our private tour of Venice, we were being shown one of the great architectural wonders of the city designed by Giorgio Spavento. As our tour guide was talking, we were slowly interrupted by the development of a delightful scene: Carnival revelers, adorned in their elaborate costumes, were making their way up the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo. The unique spiral staircase of this historic building served as the perfect backdrop for their iconic group selfie. The serendipitous timing of the festival, our tour, and this picturesque moment created an unforgettable snapshot of Venetian charm. This was all completely unplanned, which made the moment seem like a beautifully orchestrated coincidence. So, we waited as this eclectic group ascended the structure, rearranged themselves repeatedly for the perfect shot, and then I was fortunate enough to freeze this unique moment in time, embodying the essence of Venetian culture in one frame.
