I did my Masters degree in Australia at the USYD in 2011/12 and I took this shot on a road trip from Darwin to Perth during summer break. As I was slightly short on money I kept the trip in a rental car rather short and did 8.000km in just 18 days which is why I cannot specifically say where exactly this shot was taken. I took roughly 2.000 shots of beautiful landscape...

My camera at that time was a Pentax K10d with a CCD sensor that delivered outstanding colors although this picture was converted in Apple Aperture to black and white. The lens was my go-to lens at that time, a 16-50 f2.8 DA*, which was my pride in terms of equipment. The gradient was created just by using a CPL filter.
