Get Published, Get a Showing at Unpublished Photo 2022 (UP22): Call for Entries

Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, in Venice, Fondazione Culture e Musei and Museo delle Culture (MUSEC) of Lugano, and 29 Arts in Progress, of Milan are supporting the fourth edition of the open call: UNPUBLISHED PHOTO 2022 – UP22. The open contest is designed to showcase young talents (under 36) in contemporary photography.

In partnership with De Pietri Artphilein Foundation, the UP22 contest will award a cash prize of CHF 2,000 to the first prize winner, CHF 1,500 to the second prize winner, and CHF 1,000 each to the third and fourth finalists. 

Previous entrants and winners: Matteo Piacenti, Gabriel Guerra Bianchini, Farnaz Damnabi, Gabriele Milani, Avinash Mishra, Mouneb Taim, Luo Jian, Li Zhang, Khanh Bui Phu, Francesco Soave.

In addition to the prize money, MUSEC will host a special exhibit for finalists' work from October 20, 2022, until February 12, 2023, at the Villa Malpensata in Lugano, Switerland.

Finally, Artphilein Editions, a nonprofit that supports contemporary culture and young artists, will also produce and publish an entirely dedicated, fine limited edition catalog of one of the young finalists and the overall project.

Fondazione Culture e Musei, MUSEC, Artphilein, 29 Arts In Progress, and Istituto Veneto di Scienze Lettere ed Arti truly are committed to creating a space for young artists to connect. This is a worthy cause and valuable contest.  

Sets of up to 10 images must be submitted before the contest deadline of April 10, 2022.

Ageism. You must be born after 1986. Why?

My understanding is that this competition is designed to support young talent.
