8K Video on a Phone: Just How Good Is the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra

4K has become the standard resolution for a lot of video production and consumption, with the cutting edge of the camera world eyeing 8K devices. Samsung's latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S20 Ultra, has some jaw-dropping camera specs, including 8K video, and while those numbers are certainly impressive, you might wonder how well they hold up in the real world, particularly on a phone. This great video review takes a look at how the phone's video capabilities hold up in practice.

Coming to you from Potato Jet, this great video review takes a look at the 8K video capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra phone. The phone contains some highly impressive specs, including the following:

  • 1/1.33" main camera sensor
  • Up to 108-megapixel images
  • Ultra-wide and telephoto cameras
  • 10x hybrid zoom
  • Still image extraction from 8K stills
  • Simultaneous stills shooting on all cameras
  • 120 Hz AMOLED display (3,200 by 1,440 resolution, 6.9 inches)

Altogether, even if the Galaxy S20 Ultra can't quite keep up with dedicated professional equipment with bigger sensors, it looks like a fantastic and versatile pocket camera (and phone, of course) that could be a great option for any creative looking to have a powerful device in their pocket. Check out the video above for the full rundown!

Entry level consumer SLR have higher bit rate in 1080p than this have in 8k. Of course it is rubbish marketing gimmicky.

Glad the sensor size is almost back to where Nokia left it with the 808 pureview.

I see alot of complaints about their 8k video quality, but their 4k is the better option, it's alot sharper!

wow

I think it is retailing around $1300. How bad do you want a good camera on your phone!?!

Well, this is huge! I wish phone manufacturers realized that the image and security matters more than resolution ! Take a look here https://trymobilespy.com/who-is-my-bf-texting/ and you will understand!
