Broncolor Brings HS Support to Fujifilm With Release of RFS 2.2 Transceiver

Broncolor Brings HS Support to Fujifilm With Release of RFS 2.2 Transceiver

Today, Broncolor has released the RFS 2.2 F, the Fujifilm version of their HS transceiver system. This allows those with Fujifilm cameras to take advantage of the Broncolor HyperSync system, allowing the photographer to move to sync speeds of up to 1/8,000 s on supported lights, enabling far more shooting possibilities.

Broncolor's HyperSync technology is their version of high speed sync, allowing photographers to shoot beyond the standard sync speed of their camera, making it far easier to use wide apertures in broad daylight or other situations instead of resorting to ND filters. The technology is compatible with Broncolor's Siros and Move lines, while the transceiver can fall back to RFS 2 support for Scoro and Senso packs on demand. RFS 2 has a range of up to 300 feet and includes both flash and model lamp control for up to 99 separate channels with up to 40 lamp groups per channel.

The transceiver features a backlit display, rotating control wheel, and a PC sync/hot shoe pass through system for combining Broncolor lights with other systems. The transceiver should be particularly pleasing to GFX 50S users, many of whom have been a bit disappointed by the camera's 1/125 s sync speed despite its otherwise strong showing. We'll update this post with pre-order links as soon as they're available; delivery is expected later this month.

Is this a Godox?

That's what my Flashpoint/Godox controller looks like. I guess Broncolor is now just rebadged Godox.
https://www.adorama.com/fprrr2tn.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIovTpob-J2AIVloiz...

I read Bron' uses some hardware parts (casing...) but uses it's own firmware and competences....
But as a Goddox user to, it makes me laugh a bit :)

I'll bet the only difference is modified firmware to speak within the Broncolor parameters, but otherwise that's pure Godox guts.

Which makes you wonder about the guts in the strobes...

Absolutely, so is Godox a rebranded Broncolor device or the opposite?
:D

Well, Broncolor may have well exposed themselves to the answer to that question with this product release?

Reminds me of the old Telefunken M16 microphone being sold overpriced at $1400 that turned out to be a generic Chinese mic you could pick up for under $300...

Nice!

Not that I have any Broncolor gear, but I'm hoping with the release of this unit then Elinchrom isn't going to be far behind with their Skyport HS transmitter for Fujifilm.

I wonder if the newly released firmware for some of the Fujifilm cameras was a prerequisite for this to be released?
One of the things updated in said firmware was:

3. Improve radio flash controller usability
The upgrade allows users to shoot with compatible third party studio flash in high speed sync. or TTL mode via their radio controllers.

Better write Godox brings HS support to Boroncolor/Fuji :)

Brand name brand price :-). That's way I have Godox flashes and radios. Cheers

If it werent a rebranded Godox, they would charge $300+ for it.

I use the RFS 2.2 for Canon with a Siros L. I love the light from the Siros and it's ability to provide HSS without pulsing. It's one drawback: you can't control modeling light output. Hopefully, this can be addressed in firmware.

Thanks Godox!
