Today, Canon has announced the EOS M50 Mark II, a follow up to one of its popular vlogging cameras.
The updated Canon EOS M50 Mark II with its 24.1-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 8 imaging processor brings notable changes such as improved autofocus in stills and video recording, native vertical video support, and wireless YouTube Live streaming. It can also be used as a webcam using the free EOS Webcam Utility or with its clean HDMI output.
Looking at the displays, the EOS M50 Mark II features a 3-inch vari-angle LCD with 1.04-million dots of resolution. New to the Mark II is a start-stop recording button on the display as well as a movie self-timer. The viewfinder is a 2.36-million dot OLED EVF and now users can tap on the screen while looking through the viewfinder to control autofocus.
The EOS M50 Mark II is capable of recording 4K UHD 24p as well as Full HD 120p video. In 4K, it is not a full sensor readout, rather it will be cropped.
Pricing for the body only will be $599. Two kit options will be available, one paired with the EF-M 15-45mm for $699 and the other paired with both the 15-45mm and the EF-M 55-200mm for $929.99. Cameras are expected to start shipping in November 2020.
No IBIS? Cropped 4k? Worst camera ever made? All that's right it has Canon written on the front and not Lumix <G>.
Worst? I've had cameras that had cropped 1080p. I think this is better than that

So... Really, a firmware upgrade.
I think this could be a decent system if they would have ever developed it. Still not a lot of lenses and the sensor is barely bigger than M4/3 so not much advantage. Seems too little too late to me.
Remind me to never complain about Sony's updates when Canon does something like this... I mean, most of this could have just been done in a firmware update to the mark1 M50 right?
There are ZERO hardware changes as far as we know, right? So what we need is someone to try installing the Mark II firmware on a Mark I. I thought Sony was sometimes bad in making a person buy a new camera just to get, say, an improved menu system, etc, but Canon has stooped to a new low - this is ridiculous.
Every camera is turning into a video/vlogging camera.
Are there any still photography cameras launching?
So am I reading this right? Clean hdmi? That’s a change from the original one.
