Leica Q Gets in the Spirit of the Winter Olympics With 'Snow' Special Edition Designed by Iouri Podladtchikov

Even the Leica Q is getting in the spirit of the Winter Olympics with a new "Snow" special edition. Limited to only 300 total available, you may want to get on this one.

Leica is well-known for their limited edition offerings that are released in small numbers and aimed primarily at collectors, and the Leica Q "Snow" joins that heritage. Designed by Swiss Olympic gold medalist snowboarder and Leica photographer himself, Iouri Podladtchikov, the "Snow" takes the existing Leica Q's popular and respected feature set which includes a full-frame 24 megapixel sensor, industry-leading EVF, and a fixed Summilux 28mm f/1.7 lens, and redesigns the exterior to channel in the feel of winter. The front cover is a pure white cowhide leather with silver anodization all around the aluminum body and dials. I particularly love the red text accents.

The "Snow" retails for $5,395 and only 300 are being produced, each with a special serial number. If you want one, be sure to hit up your favorite Leica Store or boutique as soon as possible. And oh, you'll probably want to be sure to wash your hands before every use to keep that striking white leather pristine.

And a better camera

"...each with a special serial number..."
I really hope they each have their own serial number :)

Ha. Hey, that's what it said in the press release. ;-) I'm assuming it's referring to some special prefix or something.

OMG I love it!!

"... each with a special serial number." - what? Does the serial number have an emoji in it? Is that what makes the number special?

So they've designed a camera to make it easier to lose in the snow? Small wonder their genius is so misunderstood by the wider photography market at large...
