New Firmware for Fujifilm X-T1, X-E1, X-E2, and X-Pro1 Cameras Now Available

Fujifilm has just rolled out the firmware updates they announced last month for various members of the X-Series camera family, including the X-T1, X-E1, X-E2, and X-Pro1. While all of the updates include new features, the X-T1 enjoys the most, with a generous 21 additions. These include a new maximum shutter speed of 1/32000s, better control over the electronic viewfinder (EVF) and LCD screen, a Natural Live View function, better customization over the AE-L/AE-F button, PC tethering support, as well as new video frame rates including 24fps, 25fps, and 50fps.

The new features for the X-E2 include an interval timer shooting function for timelapse photography and enhanced wireless functionality using the Fujifilm Camera Remote app (iOS|Android). All of the firmware updates include a new "classic chrome" film simulation and AF+MF functionality allowing manual focus fine tuning in conjunction with autofocus.

The new firmware versions are as follows:

  • X-T1 (and X-T1 Graphite Silver Edition): Version 3.00
  • X-E1: Version 2.40
  • X-E2: Version 3.00
  • X-Pro1: Version 3.40

There is a typo in your post. the new shutter speed is 1/32000.

My fault. A zero got caught up with something else I was editing. Thanks for pointing that out, Simon.

No prob. It's such a neat feature it stood out to me! ;)

Kudos to Fuji. I have the X-T1 and this update is like buying a new camera. Hey Big Two, take note. You do not need to wait years to introduce new features in an entirely new camera body. Firmware updates are your friend!

Awww yeah. Can't wait to try Classic Chrome on my X-E1.

Rats, not available for the X-E1 :(

I commend Fuji, they essentially are buying goodwill with exisiting customers and attract potential new ones by continually expanding the usability of 1-2 year old cameras with firmware updates.

As Art also mentioned, I wish other camera brands would do the same. They don't quite understand their dominance over the market has been diminishing over the last 5 years.

i just updated my x-t1 which worked perfectly with my cactus rf60 and v6 wireless trigger prior to the update, but now it's not working. I thought it may be an issue with the hotshoe, but tested with the popup flash and it fires. Did anyone face issues with third party flashes after the update?

Hi Tariq. I have the Godox v850 along with its wireless trigger and it works without any issues for me after the update.
