Coming to you from Lok Cheung, this great video review takes a look at the new Sony a7C mirrorless camera. The a7C is a bit of a departure from the earlier a7 models, offering a 20% smaller and lighter design than previous bodies. In addition, it also offers the following:
- Magnesium alloy chassis with weather-sealing
- 24.2-megapixel sensor that features 15 stops of dynamic range
- Extended ISO range of 50-204,800
- 4K video at up to 30 fps with 2.4x oversampling
- Full HD 1080p video at up to 120 fps
- 10 fps burst rate
- 0.39" OLED EVF with 2.36-million-dot resolution
- 3.0" vari-angle touchscreen LCD
- AF system with 693 phase-detection points and 425 contrast-detection points
- Real-time Eye AF and Tracking AF
- 5-axis in-body image stabilization
- Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
- Single SD card slot with UHS-II support
Of course, the biggest stumbling block for a lot of shooters is likely to be the single card slot, but other than that, it seems like the a7C is a fairly well-balanced camera in a very compact and portable body. Check out the video above for Cheung's full thoughts.
This is actually a pretty balanced review. I have seen many reviews from "influencers" that feel more like sponsored advertisements. I like that he gives some samples of 3rd party lenses at a variety of focal lengths and sizes.
I have no idea who this gentleman is, but he made a new fan / follower out of me. This is one of the best camera reviews I have ever seen...Very honest and he spoke about things that matter.
As far as this New Sony a7C came out and I read the specs, I felt like it was a couple of steps back from my A7lll and not much better than my A6400, so I passed.
This video confirms my choice.
