Is This the Sharpest Fujifilm Lens?

Fuji have some superb lenses, but is this the sharpest of them all?

My relationship with the sharpness of lenses is complicated. On the one hand, I don't really care for buying only the sharpest lenses on the market, but at the same time, I won't settle for any sort of softness, wide-open or otherwise unless there's a damned good reason. YouTuber and photographer, Roman Fox, goes over his thoughts on a year with the Fujifilm XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR for mirrorless. Fox is a talented photographer and somewhat of a Fujifilm disciple.

We've been pretty hot on the Fujifilm praise this week, so I won't heap anymore on them. What I will say is the 50-140mm f/2.8 certainly seems optically impressive from Fox's shots and appears to make for a great walk-around lens. Have you used it? Is the the sharpest lens in the Fujifilm line-up? Is there a lens you prefer over it? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Though I don't own it I have shot the 50-140 on a few occasions. In my humble opinion the XF 90mm f/2 is the sharpest Fuji lens for the X system.

From my experience the 80/2.8 Macro takes that crown. The 90/2 is incredible as well.

The 50-140 is my walk-around lens, very sharp but not as sharp as the 90/2 or the 56/1.2, for what that's worth.

Is sharpness the only thing that matters in a lens these days? It’s all I seem to see people talking about, oh and Bokeh.

Some of the best shots I’ve seen are taken on old vintage lenses adapted to digital cameras

Whether any zoom lens out performs a top prime lens asking a bit too much. The Fuji 90mm known as the sharpest Fuji lens seems about right. Wonder if Fuji will ever produce compact prime telephoto say 150mm or 180mm like Nikon? Fuji 50-140 just a bit too big for me.

I have this lens, not used very much, but results have splendid. I just sold my Fuji H1m body, so looking for new body, got my eye on the newe X4
