Small and Sharp: A Review of the Samyang AF 45mm f/1.8 FE Lens for Sony E Cameras

No doubt, a 50mm f/1.8 lens (a nifty fifty) is a lens that almost every photographer has a place for in their bag. If you are looking for such a lens for your Sony camera, check out this great review of the Samyang AF 45mm f/1.8 FE lens for Sony E mount cameras.

Coming to you from John Sison, this excellent review takes a look at the Samyang AF 45mm f/1.8 FE lens for Sony E mount cameras. The 45mm f/1.8 is quite compact, measuring just 2.21 inches (56.1mm) long and weighing just 5.7 oz (162 g), with a unique focal length that sits between the more common 35mm and 50mm options. It also comes with an extra-low dispersion element for reduced chromatic aberrations and increased clarity, two aspherical elements for reduced spherical aberrations and distortion and improved sharpness, Ultra Multi-Coating for reduced flares and ghosting and increased contrast, a linear STM autofocus motor with manual override, a non-rotating front element, and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm for smoother bokeh. Altogether, the 45mm f/1.8 looks to be an affordable option with a versatile focal length and aperture that offers sharp images in a small and portable package. Check out the video above for Sison's full thoughts.

i take better pictures with my samyang 35 and 24mm lenses than my $1500+ 50/1.4 and 35/1.4 Zeiss. Why? No one notices you with the samyang.
