Photography is a centuries-old practice with a rich history of innovations and advancement, and it is a fun and informative exercise to take a look at all the events that brought us to where we are today. This great video takes a look at 10 of the most pivotal moments in photography history.
Coming to you from Tony and Chelsea Northrup, this fun and informative video discusses 10 important moments in photography history. The thing I have always loved about photography is how it marries artistry with technology, and that has created a very deep history of innovation within the field. Personally, I would also add the introduction of the Polaroid as one of the most important moments. While Polaroid pictures were of obviously lower quality than more traditional prints, they introduced a tradeoff: ease of use and instant gratification versus image quality. This idea of instant gratification and the balance between it and image quality is one that continues to this day and guides the very buying decisions of many, many customers. Also, they were just fun to use (heck, I still shoot with an Instax camera today).
