We Interview Lindsay Adler

Lindsay Adler has long been a staple in the photography industry. So, when I got the opportunity to sit down and catch up with what she has been up to, I jumped at It.

When it comes to big name photographers, Lindsay Adler is among the top of the who's who. With her work as a Canon Explorer of Light to her role as a Profoto ambassador, her work is as good as her reputation.

In this conversation, I get the chance to discuss her new Optical Spot modifier in partnership with Westcott. While the Optical Spot has become widely known since its release, this type of modifier has been around for quite a long time. But past offerings have been either very expensive or limited in their abilities. So, I was curious what the process of bringing something like this to market looked like. From there, we dove into her role as an educator. I knew she had an online platform for photography education, taught in-person conferences, and still maintains a thriving business as a working fashion and portrait photographer. So, I wanted to know how that all balanced out. In this part of the talk, Lindsay breaks down how she allocates her time between the various aspects of her brand, from monthly online education to quarterly in-person workshops, with everything else sprinkled in between.

Lindsay also goes on to mention that all her fast-approaching in-person events are all sold out, but there are a few conference-style workshops that people can get access to. The first is an event at the PPA of Idaho and the other at The Photo Creators Conference in Tuscon Arizona. If you are unfamiliar with the Photo Creators Conference, I recently had an interview with the founder, Roberto Valenzuela, alongside one of the other headline instructors, Joe McNally.
