In this video, Nigel Danson provides several pieces of advice for landscape photography in the autumn season. I must admit, more than most photography videos, I really enjoyed this video from Danson. With the autumn season kicking into full gear, the foliage is primed for photographing, but with the limited window in which to capture anything, preparing beforehand is crucial. These tips are a great place to start.
Recently, I published an article here on Fstoppers with my own advice for taking photos during the autumn season. Compared with my own article, this video really adds another dimension of information to this topic. In all honesty, color theory is still a relatively weak spot for me. Like everyone, I'm still learning, and the video really left me with a lot to think about, particularly with the bit about going out right after rain. I tend to try to get out and far away from my home and the city when I do any landscape photography, which also means that I am not typically in my desired landscape location right after the rain or when it's quite foggy. With that said, this video has inspired me to make a point of getting out when it's foggy or just after it's rained.
