How to Find Your Creativity in Landscape Photography

One of the trickiest aspects of landscape photography is that, unlike many other genres, you have no control over the elements in the frame, and as such, it can be tricky to find your individual voice and sense of creativity. It is not impossible, though. This great video tutorial discusses the topic and offers a range of helpful advice on how to find your creative voice in the genre.

Coming to you from Alister Benn with Expressive Photography, this excellent video tutorial discusses the issue of finding one's creative voice in landscape photography. It is crucial, particularly when you are new to the genre, to keep experimenting as much as possible. With a genre like this, it can be easy to simply fall into many of the most popular tropes and end up shooting a lot of golden hour, wide angle, highly saturated shots. If that is the style you naturally gravitate toward after creative exploration, that is, of course, totally fine, but it is important that you establish who you are first, particularly if you want long-term enjoyment from the craft. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Benn.
