How to Plan Stunning Moon Alignment Photos

You have probably seen jaw-dropping photos in which the moon aligns with some sort of natural or man-made landmark. They take a fair deal of careful and precise planning, however, and this excellent video tutorial will show you exactly how to do it to get your own shots.

Coming to you from Kamil Pekala, this awesome video tutorial will show you how to plan moon alignment shots. While individual shots of the moon can be impressive, incorporating other elements in the frame can give its size context and make the photo much more arresting. Of course, this takes more than just showing up at a location; you have to carefully plan the timing and alignment of the moon and the elements of interest, as well as your choice of focal length, as you will likely want to use a longer lens to exaggerate its size and isolate it along with a few other parts of the frame. As the date of the shoot approaches, do not forget to keep a close eye on the weather, particularly the cloud cover forecast. You may need to make some adjustments depending on how the forecast evolves.

Check out the video for the full rundown from Pekala.
