How to Take Great Landscape Photos in Dull Conditions

You can do everything you can to hone your technique and expand your creative range, but perhaps one of the most frustrating aspects of landscape photography is that you have no control over the conditions. If the weather is dull, though, that does not mean you have to pack up your gear and head back home. With a little adjustment, you can still come home with fantastic images. This excellent video tutorial will show you everything you need to know to do just that.

Coming to you from Nigel Danson, this excellent video tutorial will show you the ins and outs of taking compelling landscape photos in dull weather. I truly believe you can take great landscape shots no matter the weather; you simply have to work to create images that the conditions are conducive to rather than fighting them. For example, if the sky is a monotonous gray, adjust your compositions to include less of it and embrace the advantages of the flat light, which leaves you a lot of latitude for adjustments in post. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Danson.
